Andy Warhol (1928 - 1987) was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Art came naturally to Warhol and he received his first camera at the age of nine from his father. He dabbled in a variety of different art forms, but his whimsical illustrations were the foundation of his success and launched his career. As the years progressed, he became more interested in painting and film production. In the 1960s, he began creating his iconic Pop Art paintings. His Campbell's Soup Can series prints clearly propelled Warhol to a new level of fame. Jackie Kennedy Onassis, along with other famous people and socialites, became prominent subject in his art. As he continued in his success, Warhol's passion for the cinema was apparent in his use of Hollywood starlets, such as Marilyn Monroe and Elizabeth Taylor, in his art prints. His passion for movies continued as he used his talents to create hundreds of films. Behind-the-scenes photographs from these productions have been turned into popular Warhol art prints with quotes, such as "I don't know where the artificial stops and the real starts". In the 1980s, Warhol continued to explore his artistic abilities. It was also during this time that he collaborated with young, neo-expressionist, Jean-Michel Basquiat, David Salle and others.
